Localisation in Practice – the future of health and humanitarian logistics systems
I started my humanitarian journey in London with a Masters study in social policy in international development at the London School of Economics. Since then, I have been working in several countries as a field based humanitarian logistician in senior management roles for the past 12 years prior to joining the Global Logistics Cluster in 2021. With this experience, I have focused on emergency response as well as recovery and preparedness in multiple contexts across Africa, Middle East, and Asia. My experience and passion for the environment directly feed into my current role, which focuses on providing information and tools to humanitarian logistics practitioners to support the adoption of a more environmentally sustainable humanitarian logistics response before, during, and after emergencies. I pride myself on being a social policy specialist by training, a logistician by trade, and an environmentalist at heart. You can find me enjoying the great outdoors and exploring new places with my daughter and husband whenever the sun is shining.
